Who’s behind The Old Fogies?

Tim is a marketing professional with a background in business and marketing in a range of industries including commercial radio, aviation, health and wellbeing as well as food and drink.

A keen musician Tim played keyboards in a successful semi-pro band until the first of two daughters came along and forced him to grow up (not too much though) and focus on a career in marketing. Tim’s creative outlets include song writing, penning short stories, and writing a thriller, regrettably as yet not finished.

Why ‘The Old Fogies’?

In their late sixties George and Marge are what Tim aspires to be in his own retirement. Honest, well meaning, loving and caring and very much family orientated, but absolutely not put out to pasture as an ‘Old Fogie’. Tim has travelled extensively and draws upon his experiences to create the situations that George and Marge find themself in.

Why AI as a creative tool?

Tim created his first bespoke greeting card for a beloved Nephew by having the George & Marge characters created by an illustrator for a one-off birthday card idea. It happened to be our Water Aerobics card. The gag was well received and Tim thought "I wonder if there might be something in this". Commissioning dozens of card illustrations with a continuous pipeline of new ideas wasn’t viable, however, using AI to create the scenes from original ideas was. Months of learning, training and coercing the software, have resulted in the launch of a series of cards that Tim believes to be a fun and inoffensive range for all occasions, with plenty of more ideas to come.

Tim hopes you enjoy his series of cards as much as he has enjoyed creating them.

For the cost of a coffee, when you make an Old Fogies’ card purchase, you get not only the enjoyment of choosing from a range of cards for different occasions to send to someone who means something special to you, but the enjoyment of knowing the recipient will feel special when they open it. It’s what we call in the industry as a case of ‘more bang for your happiness buck'!

Thanks for reading.
